Craigellie House

This is a lovely place to visit. We stayed 6 nights and were treated as house guests throughout. The bed was exceedingly comfortable and the room very well appointed. 'Our' sitting room was a delight with the log fire blazing. We were often tempted to stay and read or plan our next day in great comfort. Breakfasts, with as much choice as you could possibly require, were splendid. Liz's attention to detail, and Charlie's extensive local, and not so local, knowledge of the countryside and of walks made the visit truly memorable.

Previous glowing reviews are spot on - this is a special place to stay. Lovely hosts, accomodation and food. Liz goes above and beyond to ensure that guests enjoy their stay. Very happy to recommend.

Probably the best B&B we have experienced out of many other Sawday ones we have used over the years. We stayed 5 nights and were sad to leave. This is a beautiful place in a glorious part of Scotland. We felt utterly pampered throughout, loving Liz's attention to detail and of course her cooking. Everything was faultless, down to linen table napkins, clean every day, the table always beautifully set and food cooked especially for us (to order of course). The room was very comfortable, quiet and well-appointed in every detail (it's the details that count!).

Wonderful house, wonderful room, wonderful hosts, wonderful evening meal - what's not to like! A warm and genuine welcome, with tea, cake and a real interest in making our trip special. A great time exploring the area was always followed by a friendly greeting back at the house with queries if they could do anything for us. We had five magnificent nights here and wished for more. Many thanks to Liz, Charles and Maya. We look forward to a return visit.

A perfect bed and breakfast. Well decorated rooms, a sitting room, and an evening meal if booked in advance. A large choice of breakfast served to the table. Beautifully quiet, a large garden too.

Wow!! What a gem! We're so glad that we discovered this delightful and tranquil haven; the welcome was very warm and accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Not having those awful little plastic milk tubs was only one of the number of improvements which we enjoyed, as was the freshly homemade cake in the afternoon! The meals were delicious - my favourite being the Kedgeree - we wish that we'd booked our evening meals, there, too. Definitely next time......

One of the loveliest, if not the best, bed and breakfast establishment we’ve stayed at. A gorgeous, manicured garden, and gracious bedrooms. Certainly the cleanest bathroom on the planet! Breakfasts were generous and completely specific to each guest. We really loved it and Liz is a particularly charming host.

My visit to Craigellie House was so special. Liz and Charlie are wonderful hosts! The home is phenomenally restored. The grounds are lovely! It is so relaxing and welcoming. If you are in the area, don’t miss this special treat!

Had a wonderful stay at Craigellie. Liz and Charlie are the perfect hosts, friendly and really interesting to chat to. Gave us lots of suggestions to do in the area. Craigellie is the perfect base, large bedrooms and lovely lounge area for breakfast and to relax in, very peaceful. Breakfasts and evening meal were delicious, so much choice. Beautiful countryside, fabulous walks, castles, cities and coast to visit. Plenty of good places to eat in the local area. We will definitely be back.

A wonderful, peaceful weekend with friends at the Craigellie House B&B, Very comfy beds, clean & modern en suite shower room, recently decorated to a high standard throughout. So nice to have our own sitting room with a log burner. Very welcoming hosts who serve a delicious full cooked breakfast. It's a lovely rural location with country walks and a short walk into the little town of Alyth.

My second visit to Craigellie, having first discovered it last year and proven as a fabulous destination for a quiet, peaceful and restorative weekend stay. The hosts are amazingly friendly and helpful, and my bedroom and bathroom so clean and comfy. They can provide an evening meal on prior request, and the cooked breakfast was amazing, with individual touches like local honey. A fantastic base from which to explore the area.

Lovely comfortable place to stay. Beautiful house and gardens and very warm welcome. Interesting application of modern biomass heating. Lovely local walk in the Den of Alyth and others nearby.

We enjoyed an excellent stay at Craigellie. Liz and Charles were perfect host. The house is beautiful, comfortable and clean. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. From there, we could visit several impressive castles and make nice walks in the countryside.

We've just had our second stay at Craigellie House, along with our friends and it was as fabulous as our first! The bedrooms are large, beautifully decorated, clean and very comfortable. The breakfasts are excellent and afternoon tea and cake, simply delicious. We opted to have our evening meals provided by our host Liz and they were just as outstanding, as we had remembered from previously. We will definitely be returning again!

Liz and Charlie were very welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The food was excellent, the room was lovely and tea and cakes every afternoon was a welcome touch. We hope to return.

Stayed at Craigellie House with a friend from Germany for a couple of days. The B&B was super, really comfortable. The breakfast was also excellent & Liz was the perfect host. I highly recommend. The are is also lovely to explore.

I cannot recommend Liz and Charles' b&b enough. We can't wait to stay again soon and explore more of the area. Everything was fantastic; the comfortable room, the cosy lounge, the quiet location, the delicious breakfast, and the friendly hosts. Liz and Charles went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Great walking and cycling routes from the door, and pubs and eateries close by. It's the perfect weekend break for those in Edinburgh.
