The Experience

Twist and turn along single track roads until you arrive at this attractive whitewashed house perched high above mesmerising sea views. Being here feels out of this world, it’s just you and wild nature.

The house faces west so sublime sunsets are guaranteed and sometimes the Northern Lights. Inside, it’s warm and inviting with two wood-burners — one in the open plan living space, another in the beamed sitting room — generously supplied with unlimited logs; local art and family furniture add to the homely feel. If you can look away from the view, there are puzzles, books, TV and excellent WiFi. Step out to the patio (you can eat here in summer) and a mature garden unfolds, full of colour and interest, with a gently sloping lawn and plenty of space to kick a ball about.

Calm bedrooms, three up, one down, share two bathrooms while the kitchen with its Everhot cooker will inspire you to create feasts. Applecross Store is 8 miles away.

We think you'll love

  • The remote feel with only nature to disturb your peace: spot pine martens, otters and white-tailed eagles
  • Soaking up the views to Rona, Raasay, Skye and beyond to the Outer Hebrides on a clear day
  • That the garden is fully enclosed and safe for both dogs and young children

Location

The neighbourhood

Pop to Applecross for a village store then a pint in the friendly Applecross Inn. There's a great café and charming walled garden to explore at Applecross Estate (10 miles – 25 minutes) or for award-winning fine dining try the Torridon Hotel (24 miles – around an hour). Wild beaches and coast are three miles away, and there are wonderful walks from the door.
