The Experience

Vast arched windows allow light to pour into the living space, cosy with wooden floors and filled with lovely things from the owners’ travels in Tibet, China and India. Two big sofas, books, games, fluffy blankets and sheepskin rugs will make rainy days feel like a stroke of luck and there’s an Esse wood-burning stove if you want an extra blast of heat.

On fine days you’ll be eating outdoors or simply easing into the hot tub and admiring the views. Mature trees filled with birds and romantic night lighting surround you. A separate utility room houses extra fridge and freezer space and you’re left some Booja-Booja chocolates to top up that holiday feeling.

Many footpaths criss-cross the countryside and you can swim in the loch, or walk up to waterfalls and cascades. Sleep soundly on Simba mattresses under feather and down. Nothing disturbs the peace.

A delightfully warm and wonderful place to stay in a fabulous spot overlooking the long valley and surrounded by mature trees hopping with birdlife, including owls to hoot you to sleep. Very special indeed.

There's much to do nearby. Loch Tay has a spa with a slide into the waters. Explore magical glens, have a forest bath, eat homemade cakes from the post office in Glen Lyon, have lunch by the fire at The Watermill in Aberfeldy or drive 40 minutes and treat yourselves to food at Mhor 84. Just down the road you'll find Highland Safaris for adventures and breakfast.

Niki and Nir moved to Scotland in 2014 from Brighton. For six years they immersed themselves in restoring The Tabernacle and embedding themselves in the area. Niki, originally from Scotland, has decades of experience travelling the world with her husband, managing various businesses. Their hosting skills are exceptional, and they've created a digital guide for every aspect of your stay.
