The Experience

This lovely old semi-detached stone cottage sits in very pretty countryside surrounded by farmland. Inside is light, bright and very comfortable with soft seating, a table and chairs in the window and a pretty courtyard with shrubs, pots and herbs. Long summer evenings out here will be sublime – open some wine, light the barbecue and watch the sun go down while the stars appear.

The kitchen is well equipped and has everything you need to cook up a storm. You’re left fresh bread, butter, milk, eggs and biscuits but it’s a short hop to shops. On rainy days you can head to the shared games room for table tennis and darts. Hire bikes and head into fabulous forest – there’s safe storage here – or fish for salmon in the river (you need a permit).

Sleep soundly and peacefully in a well-turned-out bed with crisp cotton and local art on the walls. Pamper yourself in the shower/wet room with a pebble floor for walk-weary feet.

Introducing

Kirsteen & Andrew Michell

Kirsteen and Andrew like the flow of new people and happily share their home and cottage. Andrew is semi-retired, Kirsteen was previously in hospitality; she’s keen on cooking, including making marmalade and elderflower cordial. They love their dogs, whippet Ozzie and Labradors Phoebe and Milly, and walking them in beautiful Dumfriesshire.
