The Old Wing

Simply lost for words. An amazing experience and a wonderful place to relax and rewind. Everything was just perfect - would highly recommend this as a place to stay to anyone who wants laid back luxury and to be close to activities too. Thank you!

Thank you so much for an amazing stay. We absolutely loved the house - it is very cosy, beautifully refurbished and has got everything you need (from an outdoor terrace, to a large kitchen with a spacious dining table and a comfy living space with a fire place !). It is an amazing setting with plenty of walks near by as well as a short drive to Loch Lomond, Helensburgh etc. We wished we could have stayed longer. Amanda and Ed are also great hosts and helped us in the run up to our stay with activities recommendations, restaurants etc. Thank you so much again, we hope to be back soon!

Initial thoughts, breathtaking! Fabulous break for family celebrations (8 including children). The accommodation provided comfortable sleeping spaces to meet the needs of the family, with Wi-Fi access. The fridge was stocked with essentials on arrival including champagne. There is an abundance of activities in the local area, and we would recommend the Coach House Coffee Shop at Luss. Our favourite pastime was walking around the estate and discovering the secrets of the walled garden and cosy nights in front of the log fire playing board games. We left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

We stayed as a family whilst visiting family and looking around Glasgow School of Art. What a gorgeous house. Every room felt luxurious and full of character. The setting is very peaceful with walks directly from the door and a sunny and private outdoor seating area. The beds were very comfortable with crisp bed linen and the kitchen had all essentials and the not so essential but very welcome bottle of champagne! We hope to be back again soon.

We spent a lovely time at The Old Wing. It’s a great base and the local train service brilliant for going up to Edinburgh for the day where we wandered round the fringe festival. The whole family found the house and grounds and chickens brilliant - and the welcome pack was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

What a relief to find such an authentic renovation with everything just as it should be and totally unpretentious. A grand spot for proper family holidays, children will be charging about making dens, dipping nets in the river, cooks will be very happy with the delightful kitchen, and nature lovers will be thrilled with the wildlife and the birds. Walkers will be out all day.

A truly special place to reunite our family after 3 years. What a magical place. Love the décor and Amanda’s style. We really hope to return some day.

Loved the house and enjoyed the gardens and hens. Lovely touch to have bubbly and milk/eggs ready after an 8 hour drive. Very welcoming hosts and personal touches such as wild flowers, blankets (for sitting outside) and board games were appreciated. We would certainly consider returning.

We spent a week at The Old Wing and the service provided by Amanda is nothing short of outstanding. The property is of an exceptionally high standard and caters extremely well to the needs of guests. Great hosts, great location and a great experience.
