The Experience
Birdsong accompanies your arrival at this wonderful Georgian family home where original features abound. It’s surrounded by acres of mature gardens and its bright rooms have huge beds and superlative views (for seclusion, bagsy the charming Scullery studio).
A grand piano and warming fire await in the drawing room. Return from a round of world-class golf or Wild Atlantic Way walk to swap stories over home-baked afternoon tea. Breakfast arrives à table from the kitchen garden. Savour fresh fruits, compôtes (perhaps rhubarb and lime), homemade bread, honey and preserves and tuck into free-range eggs with garden chives or the succulent sausages of Angela’s Ulster fry.
Tick off National Trust treasures, rotate between top-notch restaurants, have tranquil strolls around the grounds and sit by a roaring fire.

This was my second visit to Dromore House, I made sure I included a stay there. Angela made special accommodation for 3 of us and made us so comfortable and welcome. It’s a 200 year old house in a beautiful setting, the rooms are unique and beautifully decorated. The tea on arrival is so welcome and delicious after a busy day. The breakfasts are ample and presented to make the meal memorable. I would definitely recommend a stay at Dromore House.

Angela is the perfect host - we had home baked scones and a roaring fire when we arrived at this beautiful Georgian home on an unseasonably chilly June day. There's fresh milk every afternoon to make yourself tea after a day exploring the delights of the Antrim coast. The breakfasts are delicious and there's a "special" option every day. The room was very comfortable and, in short, we really didn't want to leave!

A beautiful place, our only regret was that we didn’t have more time to just sit and enjoy the setting, whether in the lovely garden, or in the drawing room. Angela was an excellent host; welcoming, courteous and professional. We enjoyed the excellent Ulster fry, prepared with the very best local produce, especially the delicious tomatoes, home-made bread and marmalade, fresh berries and yogurt with tea and coffee. The house is comfortable and well equipped, without compromising any of the charm or character of a period home, and it is spotlessly clean throughout. We look forward to returning.

We stayed in the Studio and were in this area for the NW200. Angela could not have been anymore accommodating and helpful, even finding space in the barn to store the bikes. The breakfast was lovely, tasty and homemade with enough choice for anyone. The accommodation itself was ideal and full of character and charm, whilst including the modern amenities one comes to expect. The location and grounds are beautiful, peaceful and idyllic. A classy and welcoming place that I’ll be looking at revisiting. Thanks for looking after us Angela. All the best, Ian.

Dromore Country House a beautiful historical house located in a quiet and peaceful location but within driving distance to Portrush and Portstewart. The bedroom, bathroom, dining, sitting rooms were stunningly beautiful, listening to the birds chirp, while having a coffee in the beautifully maintained garden area provided me with many minutes of peaceful serenity. Angela the owner and host was the kindest and most caring person I have met. On arrival home made scones and tea was a welcoming surprise. Choice of breakfast daily was a bonus. The Ulster Fry up tasty, Great coffee. Coffee is King.

Dromore House is a charming Country House in the countryside outside Coleraine. It is superbly located within 3 acres of well cared for gardens and the interior is as charming as you will find anywhere. It is an amazing place to stay but what makes it special is Angela, the owner. Nothing is too much trouble for Angela, her attention to detail is amazing and some lovely little thoughtful touches make you feel so welcome. The Breakfast is superb with lovely choices for the both the health conscious and those that need a full Ulster Breakfast fix!!! Locally sourced food is if the highest quality.

Angela is a charming and helpful host. She picked us up with her car when we were lost and leads us through a jungle of one way streets to find Dromore-house. Her homemade breakfast is absolutely fantastic! She gave us many good information for trips. Our room was clean, quiet and nice. Sitting in the lounge with lots of books and open fire was the perfect end of each day.

Dromore House was one of the best places where we have stayed during our trip in the Northern of Ireland. Angela is a lovely host and makes you feel welcome and at home. She makes the best breakfast ever! The house is an ideal base for discovering beautiful sites nearby. The rooms are large and the bed is very comfortable. The bathroom looked like one in a ferry tale. Everything was nice and clean. I would really recommend this B&B!

We had a fantastic stay at Dromore House. From booking to departure, Angela made sure our experience was faultless. Highlights include our enormous, luxurious room (a Superior King), the breakfast(s) with wonderful local produce and access to the Drawing Room, for board games and a special cup of coffee (if you know you know!). The list of Dromore House’s outstanding qualities is long - suffice to stay we are considering a return trip to Northern Ireland just to stay at Dromore House again!

This is an amazing place to stay- very relaxed, comfortable and quiet. Angela really goes the extra mile and her breakfasts are cooked with a real attention to detail. All produce is locally sourced and homemade if at all possible. She is an accomplished hostess whose home is a treasure trove of beautiful objects and art; yet Angela manages to make you feel like an old friend coming to stay at her country retreat. After four visits in two years we can wholeheartedly recommend this establishment. Everything about it is just wonderful and we are very much looking forward to our next visit.

Another first class stay at Dromore House. A perfect warm welcome in the drawing room with a cosy fire with tea and homemade shortbread. A beautiful room ‘The Willow’ with its sumptuous Egyptian cotton bedding to the gorgeous roll top bath. Angela our host is a wealth of local knowledge and always makes our visits just perfect. Nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is delicious, extremely high quality, from homemade potato bread, wheaten bread and fruit compotes and also using local suppliers. This was our fourth visit and won’t be our last! We highly recommend this stunning house.

Introducing
Angela Rolston
Angela and Peter moved here in 1999 and are always delighted to welcome people into their family home. She ran a wine business abroad. Peter’s grandfather, Joseph Shaw, brought greyhound racing to Ireland – thus the dog motifs. Angela prepares local food to historic family recipes for her guests, and she runs Dromore House with an emphasis on ‘country house not hotel’. Plans to convert the estate’s listed outbuildings into cottages are afoot.
Dromore house is a hidden oasis of peace and calm, the perfect combination of old world charm and modern luxury Greeted by Angela, we immediately felt welcome and at home. Tea, homemade scones and shortbread in the garden with bird song and views across the stunning valley was just the magic touch we needed to slow down and relax after a long drive. We stayed in a beautifully appointed, quiet and spacious room with a large comfortable bed, soft linens and duvet overlooking the gardens. What a sleep! Breakfast was divine with a menu to suit all tastes. Dromore House is now a must for us!
