The Experience

Wellies, waxed jackets and walking sticks are waiting to be taken on some fabulous walks along with your dog, the kitchen is bursting with kit and you can ask for everything in advance – a fully stocked fridge, an honesty bar in the Trailhead Cabin, even a private chef. Eat seasonal, local and delicious food at the pub (much is grown on their village farm) so you could have all your meals there, even breakfast! Pop into the farm shop (you get a discount) for stocking up and buying gifts; enjoy treatments at the Wellness Barn, foraging courses or history tours.

Bedrooms (one downstairs) are hugely comfortable with en suite showers like steam rooms, Bramley soaps and lotions, fluffy towels and robes – this feels like staying at a posh hotel. Spill out to the garden, cool off in the plunge pool, warm up in the hot tub or sauna.

Walk or bike through woodlands onto Salisbury Plain, return to light the fire pit, try out some home-brewed beers, watch the night skies.

Location

The neighbourhood

You're just over the road from the pub, farm shop and brewery. Beer tastings or 'flights' are available and there's a superb range of fresh food to buy in the shop, including freshly baked artisan bread. There's a tea room and shop in the next village, Bratton, wonderful walking and cycling from the door and good towns to explore nearby like Bradford-on-Avon. Salisbury Cathedral is a must.
