The Experience
Just a mile out of town find the cottages with original beams, log burners and French windows which let the light flood in. The interiors of these 16th-century buildings are simple and uncluttered, with some exposed stone walls and flashes of colour here and there. Kitchens are open-plan and have all the kit you need for holiday cooking with combi-cookers and shining chrome. You’ll also find a basic welcome pack waiting of tea, coffee, milk and some cereal.
Bedrooms are calming and have crisp cotton sheets and throws on the beds, views are out to the wildflower meadow and countryside beyond. Butterflies, badgers and bats can all be found here and the BBC’s nature team have filmed locally. You have your own outside space for a morning cup of tea or a sundowner surrounded by much beauty and many birds, so don’t forget binoculars.
There are lovely walks straight form the door and the pretty village is just three miles away for pubs.

The search for somewhere to stay while house renovations were completed lead me to Julian and Ali at Hidden Cottages for which I'm very grateful. I stayed in my 'home away from home' from December to March and was so well catered for that I almost didn't want to leave! The area is stunning and I discovered many beautiful walks in the peaceful countryside during my stay there. My cottage for two was comfortable, warm and very well equipped with twinkly, coloured lights to welcome me home in the Christmas season. Julian and Ali are delightful hosts and always on hand. I would recommend highly

This is Shakespeare country and walks are sublime. You're close to Stratford for a day out and a visit to the theatre. Introducing
Julian Hobbs
Julian and Ali were inspired by a love of the countryside and their expertise in restoring old buildings. Having found this perfect spot they started work in 2010. The project provided the perfect opportunity to restore and revive a listed property and to create the wildflower meadow so that guests can make the most of the countryside. They live in the house next door to the cottages.
I think The Hidden Cottages are a great, quiet, countryside retreat to escape from the hustle and bustle of life, yet centrally positioned for a special day out in The Cotswolds, Shakespeare county, Warwick or even Birmingham. Sit in the wildflower meadow and take a walk in the surrounding countryside to forget your troubles and put the world to rights.
