The Experience
If it’s a sea view and a beach on the doorstep you’re after, then look no further. The house is unassuming from the outside, but once you’re up the steps and inside there’s much to surprise and delight. Thoughtfully made over by owner Claire, the interior is light and stylish, decorated in elegant muted tones. In the open-plan living space, comfy sofas are pulled up around a wood-burner for cosy evenings indoors, the well-stocked kitchen is fun for sociable cooking and the dining table sits by a window for long sea views. To the front, bedrooms have cotton sheets and cosy duvets, and pictures on the walls; while smart bathrooms have underfloor heating. There are plenty of books and games to keep everyone entertained on rainy days but most of the time you’ll be charging about outside. Try kite-surfing and channel diving, walk the coastal path, visit nearby National Trust properties, wander galleries in Hastings and Eastbourne, or hop on a steam train for a jolly ride along the Bluebell Railway. Return to your terrace, light the firepit and sizzle your sausages while you do a spot of sea gazing.
