East Quay Pod 4 - Playful Architecture

Check the plywood walls – there’s a message in there to decipher. A comfortable double bed is up on the mezzanine floor, from which a cargo net spreads over the living space. The kitchen has a two-ring hob, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster so its perfectly possible to make scratch meals, but the restaurant is open all day for breakfasts, lunches, afternoon tea with home-baked cakes and delicious locally-sourced suppers.

You share a terrace with another pod – views are sublime across the harbourside and all the way to the Bristol Channel for magnificent sunsets. Visit the galleries, discover the history and the architecture behind East Quay and the town itself, find the memorial on the quayside to Coleridge who wrote The Ancient Mariner here.

Walks and cycles are endless – Exmoor National Park, Quantock Hills, the South West Coast Path, or visit Porlock for a pebble beach, Dunster for a castle and hop on a steam train home.
