East Quay Pod 2 - Stories & Imagination

Each plywood wall is etched with drawings that describe the stories of Watchet’s past, present and future, from the steam railway to paper making, to the legend of the Gurt Wurm, Watchet’s notorious local dragon. All the artwork is by illustrator Isabelle Mollé and the space is finished off with a ladder from the construction hanging from the ceiling.

The ground floor has a double bedroom (separated from the living space by a curtain), a kitchen which has all you need for basic cooking or heating up, and a bathroom with loo and shower. Upstairs on a mezzanine level there’s another double bed and space for two camp beds if needed. There’s a Smart TV for grim weather days and comfy seating by the window with a view over the town.

Wander down to art galleries, a restaurant serving breakfast, lunches, afternoon teas with home-baked cakes and suppers – all from local ingredients. Or just eat fish and chips on the harbour wall and gaze.
