The Hall

Our weekend stay at Bucknell was an absolute delight! From Friday to Sunday, the hosts showered us with invaluable local tips and served up the most amazing breakfast spread each morning. Freshly baked cookies greeted us daily, adding to the charm of this hidden gem in bucknell. The cozy accommodations were spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable. Massive thanks to the hosts for their hospitality. This stay was for sure one of our top destinations and I highly recommend it to anyone considering a visit!

We stayed here in March 2023. Located in a lovely little village and the directions were quite straight forward to follow. Upon arrival, Matt greeted us and gave us an overview of the facilities and how to access the room. The room was in immaculate condition, the bathroom deserves a special mention! Tea and coffee were present in addition to some local guides and home made cakes in a little box which was a nice touch. The breakfast was very tasty with cooked or cereal/bread options with locally sourced products. Our hosts were very welcoming and we could not recommend this highly enough!

Perfect peaceful & relaxing stay. Welcoming & friendly hosts. The accommodation was first class with thoughtful quality touches throughout. The home-made treats & breakfast were excellent. We will return without a doubt.

We spent a night at the Hall and hugely enjoyed it. The owners have so constructed it all that you can consider yourself almost ‘self-contained’, but with no sitting room etc. You ‘go through’ to breakfast the next morning and eat in splendid style. The décor is modern, surprisingly and engagingly so, and the main house is full of brave dark colours and interesting features. We’d gladly go again.

can't recommend this B&B highly enough- BLISS - lovely and peaceful - the room we had was stunning with magnificent beam work/furniture was a bit like Art Décor - classy and tasteful/everything in the house and room was of a high standard and quality, a great deal of thought has gone into making this a wonderful and relaxing experience for anyone who stays with Matt and Juliet, who were great hosts, they couldn't do enough for you, making homemade goodies for room and breakfast also thank you for being brave not using white bedding - well done

The perfect weekend getaway. Beautiful room and setting, very friendly hosts and delicious breakfast.

We go to lots of B&Bs and this is one of the very best. Matt and Juliet are charming and it was just as if we were visiting friends. They have lovingly restored their beautiful Georgian house with modern touches which blend in perfectly. Our bedroom was spacious, light and airy with lovely views to the fields beyond. The bed was the best we’ve slept in. Gorgeous breakfast with eggs from their own chickens. Matt baked a cake for me specially as it was my birthday. All in all, a perfect place to get away from it all and we thoroughly recommend.

This is a beautifully renovated house, owned by a charming couple, Matt and Juliet. Our room was glorious. It was stylishly decorated, huge and had wonderful rural views. We had a fridge and smart coffee and tea making appliances. Home baked cakes awaited us. A pleasant walk through the pretty village of Bucknell takes you to the Baron, where we had an excellent dinner. Breakfast was sensational, with home baked sourdough bread and the yellowest scrambled eggs with smoked salmon that I have ever had the pleasure to eat. Thank you, Matt and Juliet. We hope to return.

New life has been breathed into this handsome Georgian house by London escapees Matt and Juliet. A perfect blend of the old and the new will delight lovers of understated style and design. The art is special too. A superbly sourced breakfast with some great twists will fortify you for some superb walking and exploring. Shropshire is a hidden gem with much to discover, a true taste of the good life.
