Wild Cabins at The Bull's Head

Four oak-framed cabins sit in a wildflower meadow, framed by the towering mass of the Black Hill, steps away from the cosy 17th-century Bull’s Head inn. Vaulted wood ceilings are flooded with light from picture windows, there are heated floors and fluffy robes in the en suite and a porch with a view for your morning coffee.

Check in at the pub, stopping for a pint by the fire in the flagstoned bar – Wye Valley and Lucky Seven breweries are regulars on the pumps, along with Oliver’s Cider and spirits from Penrhos and Wildjac. Your breakfast box is packed with local treats: Angel Bakery sourdough and homemade butter, preserves and granola.

A walk in the dramatic Black Mountains is a must, or take a drive to Hay-on-Wye, town of books, before heading back for supper at the pub. In summer you might find head chef Mike cooking over fire outdoors, but good, honest cooking using produce from the family farm down the valley is on the menu year-round.
