The Experience
The timbers of this medieval yeoman’s house are quite possibly a thousand years old. Little of the structure has ever been altered and it is sheer – just mind your head! Stone floors, rich colours, a piano, books, cosy chairs, friendly dogs – all give a homely, lived-in warm feel. Cruck-beamed bedrooms are snugly small, the stairs are steep, and the twin’s bathroom has its own sweet fireplace.
Anita is charming and loves to look after her guests. Breakfasts feature fresh eggs from her hens, award-winning bacon and sausages and breads from a local artisan baker. Stay in for a 3-course dinner, of locally-sourced vegetables, and fruit from the garden such as quinces, damsons, apples, pears and plums. For eating out, head to foodie Ludlow, five miles away.
There are lovely walks a short hop away on over 1,500 acres of National Trust land, teeming with birds. Return to a cup of tea and cake in the garden or by the fire.

I sincerely hope that there are always B&Bs like this in England because they provide such a vivid connection to our past. You will be totally spoiled here and the odd bumped head won’t matter a jot. Anita will sweep you up and make your stay thoroughly memorable, she is a fount of local knowledge and will send you off to discover this glorious county. The food is great too.

I stayed at Bunns Croft outside Leominster with Anita Syers-Gibson. A wonderful weekend break and I felt as if I'd been away for far longer. Anita was a welcoming, knowledgeable and charming host and the house is a delight. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and there is lovely walking in the area both at Croft Castle and Berrington Hall. I hope to go back.

I stayed in the single room which was deliciously comfortable and incredibly quiet. Anita serves the best breakfasts of local bacon, fresh eggs with dark yellow yolks, toasted homebaked bread and proper coffee. A great place to stay

We had a wonderful couple of days in a beautiful home in a delightful hamlet. Nothing was too much trouble for Anita and she made our stay a home from home. Breakfast was excellent and locally sourced, with bread and jams all home made. Hope it will not be too long before we can make a return visit.

Location
The neighbourhood
It really is very 'pure' countryside, lush and green. The Berrington Hall estate is two miles and has lovely walks and gardens. Head to The Riverside Inn at Aymestrey for excellent food. Leominster is the closest large town for good antiques and some speciality food shops. Ludlow is a Georgian gem with really good shops and places to eat. Croft Castle is three miles.

Introducing
Anita Syers-Gibson
Anita has been in this house and doing B&B for over 40 years and has every intention of carrying on. She's totally charming and bags of fun and a superb cook. She's also a fount of knowledge about this area and the cultural activities going on. She's a national treasure, just like her house.
Bunns Croft is a fascinating old house and Anita made us feel very welcome and instantly at home. A large pot of tea and homemade cakes were just what we needed after a long hot journey. Most importantly the bed was exceptionally comfortable and breakfast magnificent. Anita is a perfect host and a mine of interesting information. Highly recommended, we look forward to visiting again.
