The Experience

Named after the founder of Lord’s Cricket Ground, the Thomas Lord is much loved and hard to fault. Join locals (and dogs) over a trio of local Upham ales at the bar, or settle into leather armchairs around winter fires. Cricketing prints and paraphernalia decorate the walls while the darkly beamed bar gives way to dedicated dining areas, including a bright conservatory.

Menus are rammed with local produce (including freshly picked produce from the pub’s potager) and foodies relish it all – from the bar bites cooked from scratch to classics and imaginative specials. Behind the pub, five double rooms in bespoke wood cabins offer comfortable and quiet beds for the night with antique touches, padded headboards, sparkling showers and chocolate brownies. On summer evenings you can roost in the garden.

Wake to a full English or veggie version, smoked salmon, eggs Benedict, smashed avocado on malted bloomer or delicious brunch sandwiches.
