The Clock Tower

Through an archway, into a courtyard then up stairs to the first floor for a very comfortable sitting room with a merry log-burner, plenty of soft seating, TV, books and games. Cooks will approve of the open-plan kitchen with all its kit, but if you don’t want to look after yourselves you can be catered for admirably by the estate chef Becka Cooper. On balmy days you can decant to the well-stocked front garden for al fresco meals.

Two light and roomy bedrooms sit calmly on the second and third floor with glorious views, well-dressed beds and pretty fabrics. You are left a bottle of estate wine – book a tour and tasting at the vineyard on the estate – and some other treats. Walk all day in the South Downs National Park, feel immersed in nature and surrounded by much wildlife.
