The Experience
The bar and dining room flow seamlessly into one another but you’ll still find snugs and alcoves to hide away in, preferably with a pint of Butcombe and a menu to hand. Summer days can be spent on the front terrace or in the raised rear garden with views over the steep hillside leading down to the cove.
Charming bedrooms upstairs come with smartly-dressed beds, fresh coffee, homemade biscuits, Roberts radios and a mini bar with treats. Modern bathrooms have fluffy bathrobes and organic Bramley soaps and bubbles. Wake to a stonking breakfast of all the usual suspects but also baked eggs, spiced tomatoes, harissa, peppers, feta and yogurt on grilled sourdough. Set off on the Coast Path to make up for it.
Treat yourselves to a cocktail before supper. Seasonal menus include pub favourites and some more innovative dishes, but all ingredients are sourced from top-notch producers in the South West. Sunday roasts are delicious.
