The Experience
It’s surprisingly spacious and light inside with two separate rooms for relaxing – one set up as a comfortable den-style TV room and another with mid-century comfortable sofa and chairs, plenty of board games and books on the shelves, lots of lovely plants and some toys and books for children. The feel is one of a much-loved family home and it will be easy to feel settled here. You cook in the large kitchen, flooded with light, on an Aga or conventional hob with a separate utility room and plenty of room for joiners in.
The mature garden is a good size, with a patio area, mown grass for sprawling, then a wilder part with a pond and a swing. On summer evenings it will be lovely to settle out here with a book and a glass of wine while something delicious simmers in the kitchen and children rampage safely. Bedrooms are simple and pretty, one downstairs has an en suite shower.
A half-hour walk will take you to a clifftop pub.

Location
The neighbourhood
From the cottage you can walk up a lane to view the Osmington White Horse. There are two village shops you can walk to (or drive to in minutes) and the local pub, which dates from the 13th century, has sea views to the Isle of Portland and serves good pub food and local Badger beer. The local dairy farm (a two-minute walk) has a tearoom and serves their own ice cream. Weymouth is a ten-minute drive.
Local points of interest from Kate Evangeli
- Turn any direction out of the cottage and you will embark on a stunning walk - from the closest beach (15 min walk), up to the famous White Horse, over to the next village of Sutton Poyntz, all with breathtaking views and clean crisp fresh air
- There are several nearby walkable beaches - the closest a 15 min walk, generally very quiet as only accesible by foot. Across a few more fields offer up options of the beach by the Smugglers Inn, Ringstead Bay or even Weymouth award winning sandy beach
- The Smugglers Inn is a remarkable pub which can be reached in a 30 min walk or 4 min drive (with plenty of parking). It's filled with locals and tourists alike, has excellent service and boasts a charm like no other coastal pub. The local beer is delicious
- The White Horse is an iconic landmark nestled on the hillside above the village. It was carved in 1883, after the cottage was built, depicting King George III riding his horse. It can be seen for miles around and serves a beautful walk
- Weymouth is a charming seaside town with a stunning harbour, offering boat trips, old castles and forts, an award winning golden sand beach, lots of independent restaurants and cafes and some of the best fish and chips in the country
- The Jurassic Coast is a short drive away, or by fun open air bus. The bus stop from the top of the road is on the open top route to Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and beautiful Swanage. Many a day can be spent fossil hunting and rock pooling

Introducing
Kate Evangeli
Kate and her family lived in the house during lockdown and would still be living there today if work didn't dictate them having to re-locate to London. They leave you a welcome bottle of sparkling wine and a large box of Dorset biscuits, along with a kitchen cupboard stocked with basic staples.
A really lovely and relaxing cottage. Great for a family with kids of any age.
