The Experience

Two chic cottages in a majestic estate flanked by orchards and organic vegetable gardens. Take a drink – or sketchpad – to the terrace for views of Wimborne Minster, distant cricket matches and the birds over Stour Meadows; sunsets are stunning. Exposed stonework reflects the 13th-century origins of these Georgian gardeners’ cottages. Clean-lined interiors reflect 21st-century design. Spotlights gleam off brick walls washed in porcelain white, a rustic yet contemporary canvas for original oils, vintage chairs, oriental cushions. Apple has an inglenook fireplace, Plum an elm table for ten – perfect if you take both cottages together. Sisal carpets lead to simple bedrooms where linen blinds frame meadow views. Cook and eat in modern country kitchens then step out to a private garden lined with fruit trees; each cottage has it’s own gravel patio with removable fencing allowing them to be opened up when booking Apple and Plum together. Plum comes with its own shepherd’s hut: duck egg blue walls and a French enamelled wood-burner. An easy walk from historic Wimborne, a short drive from blue flag beaches at Poole and Bournemouth, and perfect for big groups who can book both cottages and the nearby Gate House.

Reviews

We stayed in Apple Cottage for 4 nights in September. Perhaps the greatest endorsment we could give is that this was our 8th visit over the last 5 years sometimes in a group of 3, 4 or 6. Every visit has been fantastic . We love staying in this quiet location, yet within the beautiful town of Wimborne. On this occasion, there was a fairly large wedding taking place yet we were not disturbed in any way at all. The cottage is comfortable and well equiped. needless to say, we will be returning!

Mary, Chelmsford

Although we only live 15 mins away we stayed in Plum Cottage as my son was getting married at Deans Court. I can not fault anything, the cottage was very inviting and cosy along with being well equipped with everything you need to make your stay home from home. It's perfect for a relaxing retreat and an equally perfect wedding venue. Thank you to all the staff that made our stay so comfortable and for making the wedding day very special, such a beautiful place.

Vanessa, Broadstone

Apple cottage is charming, exquisitely presented and maintained to an incredibly high standard. A perfect place to stay post-wedding and just a short walk into town to explore Wimborne. We couldn’t have been happier. Very highly recommended.

Paul, Colehill

This was our third visit to Plum Cottage. It is a special place. Beautiful and peaceful and equipped generously with everything you could need.

Lizzie, Shropshire

Apple Cottage is a special place in a thriving town yet hidden away as if in the middle of countryside. Beautiful gardens. Homely cottage. Perfect for a family treat. We will visit again.

Jane, Dorset

Lovely cottage to hide from the storms and the floods! Clean warm spacious dog-friendly with a log burner- what more do you need?

Andy, London

A simply lovely cottage felt at home as soon as we walked in. Comfortable and relaxing. Feel like in countryside yet five minute walk to the beautiful village full of great shops, bars, restaurants. Great base to explore. Thank you and thank you for the extras very appreciated. Truly lovely thank you

Kerry, Leeds

Wonderful cottage perfect location for a peaceful get away. Fantastic welcome pack everything you could possibly need. Jonathan and the house keepers very professional and friendly nothing too much trouble. Proof is in the pudding and we and our family return many times year after year. We’ll be back!

Sue, Berkshire

We had a fantastic week at Plum Cottage...The cottage is extremely cosy, tastefully decorated and well equipped for a week away. The garden was a big hit with our dogs.... Seeing deer in the back field in the morning was wonderful. Even though the cottage is on the edge of the town of Wimborne Minster, it felt very much that you were in the countryside. The shepherd’s hut was a quirky annex for our son, who came down to visit us. It was comfortable and surprisingly warm. We would love to come back to Plum Cottage some time in the future.

Amanda, Cleethorpes

Wonderful stay at Plum cottage - comfortable and relaxing within a gorgeous setting and so close to Wimborne town. We have stayed before and will stay again (when we can get a booking).

Steev, Thunbridge

Delightful cottage. Very cosy, beautifully furnished with everything you could need. Quiet yet minutes walk into town.

Jess, Bourne End

We stayed at the Gate House and the Apple and Plum Cottages for our wedding in September 2023 and all of the accommodation was perfect. We had a lot of family and friends travelling from further afield and needed somewhere comfortable for them to stay, which all of the Deans Court accommodation provided and more. The grounds and buildings are beautiful and well maintained, and stocked with everything you could possibly need. The hot tub and BBQ in the gatehouse garden were fantastic bonuses.... A huge thank you to the Deans Court Team for everything :)

Quintessentially English! We got married at Deans Court and rented both the Apple & Plum cottages for our groomsmen and bridesmaids. They were an absolutely perfect base for our weekend and the setting is so picturesque. The cottages are beautifully decorated, very well equipped with plenty of thoughtful little touches, like the shortbread and Dorset jam which were delicious.

Will, London

The accommodation at Deans Court is truly wonderful. Our wedding party stayed here for three nights in July 2023. The amenities are wonderful, beautifully decorated and the little touches (such as the welcome food basket) really don't go unnoticed. The location is also perfect, a stones throw away from Wimborne town. The team were also super helpful with an early check in and early warm up of the hot tub to allow us to use it the first night of our stay.

Alice, Poole

We had a wonderful stay at Plum Cottage, Deans Court whilst here for a wedding. The interior of the property is immaculately decorated with plenty of character to make them such a beautiful setting. Some wonderful breakfast treats provided with the property (which were generously supplied) and lovely touches to make the stay extra special. The bedrooms had lovely linen and were so comfortable.

Harry, London

Great venue, clean lovely hamper on arrival and the management was extremely helpful ensuring we had everything we needed. Always helpful when you have 3 children. Thank you

Danielle, Hertfordshire

Another wonderful stay at Apple cottage - comfortable and relaxing and such a wonderful setting yet easily accessible to Wimborne town. We have stayed many times and will no doubt be back.

Carol, Bourne

From the moment we stepped through the door we felt at home, warm, inviting with sumptuous sofa and chairs. The tranquility really helped us to relax even though we were nearly in the middle of town, the sunsets were glorius and who couldn't appreciate the views? Plus the company of "Nanny & Billy" kept us amused.

Barry, Wimborne

Totally in love with the beautiful Deanscourt cottages they are both super comfortable and spacious. A rural stay with the benefit of a quaint market town a few minutes walk away. My favourite things are probably the waking up to the view, hearing the bird song and the sound of the church bells on Sunday mornings. There’s only one downside, and that is having to leave.

Sharon, London

Fantastic last minute family getaway - beautiful location with gorgeous facilities in the heart of Wimborne Minster. We look forward to coming again!
