Gutchpool Farm

What a lovely place to stay - so much thought and care given to the garden, buildings with views over surrounding fields. Our stylish spacious ground floor bedroom has a comfortable bed and added bonus of a private entrance and terrace. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower with lovely shower gel and shampoo. A delicious breakfast is beautifully presented in the light airy room shared with the guests’ sitting room. Rachel is a charming, interesting and welcoming host who has made Gutchpool a stylish and very comfortable place to stay.

What a find! A delightful place to stay in super-comfortable surroundings and to be welcomed as though we were old friends. The whole atmosphere was generous. We stayed for 3 nights in the large Blue Room (ground floor) with a private terrace where we were amused to see a flock of guinea fowl pecking away - apparently they sound a warning to the hens if a fox is about. There's a good sized guest sitting room with an honesty bar, also where breakfast is served. And what a breakfast! If you're looking for a rural retreat in north Dorest, look no further.

After a long and tiring drive it was a delight to find such a haven as we found at Gutchpool Farm. We had a lovely bedroom and bathroom, and there is beautiful countryside to explore. Breakfast was excellent and very well presented, and Rachel looked after us with care and thoughtfulness. Everything was of a very high standard. We look forward to a return visit.

Wonderful week's stay. Beautiful bedroom with luxurious bedding and lovely views. Bathroom has superb facilities. Breakfasts were delightful with home-made marmalade & jams, and eggs & fruit from the farm. Very light & comfortable sitting/dining room. Rachael is an excellent host in true Sawday's style, despite the difficulties in coping with the Corvid rules.

A delightful place to stay. The room was perfect and the living area for guests warm, inviting and comfortable. Rachel is a charming hostess and goes out of her way to make you feel at home. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Think open fields outside your window where horses and sheep roam freely. Rachel Hall runs this exceptional place and is a welcoming, interesting hostess. Furnishings and décor are high end, yet the atmosphere so relaxed that it’s tempting to give in to the pervading peace and quiet and loll around all day on the squashy sofas and chairs in the guests’ impressive sitting-room. We felt utterly spoiled in the spacious ground floor Blue Room which offered every imaginable comfort including fine toiletries, slippers, and a private terrace. Cross fingers, we'll be back.

If you love animals, birds and wildlife you will be happy here. A very tranquil and relaxing feel to this bed and breakfast. Sleep in deeply comfortable beds, settle into a sofa in the elegant guests sitting room with a good book, and enjoy Rachel's healthy and varied light breakfasts. Fresh coffee and chocolates in your room too...be really pampered here on this lovely farm.
