Little Yeo

Inside is open plan, neat-as-a-pin and cosy with a wood-burner – you’re facing away from the owners’ house so the feel is very private. Art by local artists on the walls, a rug on a herring-bone wooden floor and comfy seating by the telly mean rainy days can be spent happily – you’ll find books to read and games to play too. The sleek kitchen is to the side and Jo leaves a welcome hamper with a cream tea, wine, local bread, crisps, chocolates, sometimes eggs, always fresh flowers.

Both bedrooms have duck down duvets and pillows, thickly-lined linen curtains and plenty of hanging space – the double has three windows with green views for admiring while sipping a morning cup of tea. On sunny days you’ll be eating out on the patio (there’s a fire pit for cooking) or sunning yourselves on the big lawn with a glass of chilled wine nearby.

There are 15 acres of woodland and meadow to explore or pretty walks along the river.
