Little Barton Hartland: Farmhouse & Cottage

Sixteen of us (plus baby!) had a wonderful time staying at Little Barton over the bank holiday weekend. The house is really beautiful and well equipped for a big group. We loved hanging out on the big lawn in the sun and sitting round by the fire. Hopefully will be back one day!

The houses were beautiful, clean, well-kept, spacious, and well-equipped. The location was amazing and Alex was very accommodating to our needs there was a very detailed folder in the house compiled by Alex of information on walks etc. The local area has plenty to do with fantastic beaches and a dramatic coastline. We'd thoroughly recommend the houses.

This was the second time our family of six stayed at Little Barton Cottage and once again had a wonderful time. The weather was somewhat challenging, but coming back to the cosy atmosphere with wood burning stoves in both the kitchen and living room was great. The large games room with table tennis was also well used by the children to keep them occupied when were not out at one of the many beautiful beaches and attractions in the area.

My teenage daughters and I had a wonderful pre-Christmas visit where being cosy and relaxed were high on the list of priorities. The cottage was charming and so comfortable. We made use of the wood-burning fires in the lounge and kitchen. There was plenty of hot water and a wonderful bath to soak in whilst the rain poured outside.We each had our own rooms and plenty of space to chill when we needed to do our own thing. Alex left lots of information for us to explore the surrounding area, but the weather and the charm of the cottage meant we were happy to stay indoors.

We have had the most amazing week with Alex at her wonderful farmhouse at Little Barton. The house is very spacious and easily fitted ten of us. You can leave your car behind and walk to great beaches going through the most beautiful wooded valleys. We loved the arty feel of the place and also the strong emphasis on recycling and looking after this special part of the world. We hope to be back.

We had an amazing stay in the cottage at Little Barton. It's a beautiful and relaxing place, and had everything we needed for our stay. Lots of walking and swimming to be had nearby. Such a great stay that we will be back.

I really liked Little Barton - it's got a very positive energy to it. A place to feel unfettered.

We had a lovely stay at Little Barton. The house and surroundings are very relaxing, with great views to the coast. There is lots of space to spread out on, even with a large group, many nooks and crannies to hide away in with a book, and wonderful walking and beaches close by. The ping pong in the barn is a bonus, of course! Two thumbs up from our young children, and 5* from the grownups.

Seconds after arriving (after a marathon Friday pm drive from London) our city stresses disappeared. Little Barton is a wonderful, characterful place to stay. We had the house + cottage (8 adults and 7 boys - under 7!) and it felt super spacious, plenty of room to eat, to play, to roam. The boys ran barefoot throughout the houses and gardens, playing hide and seek, flying kites in the gardens... the grown ups took any quiet opportunities to enjoy coffee on the terrace or wine on the bench looking out to sea. The rooms were are spacious, and unique. Amazing coast. Well equipped. Wonderful!
