The Experience

You’re in an L-shaped cluster of buildings set on a working organic farm with some sheep, a couple of pigs and 33 acres of bird-filled woodland to roam. Suzy and Philip live in the farmhouse and offer yoga courses and retreats.

The open-plan living and dining area is compact and modern with a wood-burner, plenty of books and views towards the woodland. The kitchen has all the basics but you could choose to order vegetarian food from Suzy (she has a menu), including macrobiotic breakfasts.

Walk up Limstone Beck for fabulous views over Esthwaite Water, visit the medieval market town of Hawkshead (a five-minute drive) for the Beatrix Potter Gallery, wander down to The Drunken Duck for lunch or supper. Ambleside and Lake Windermere are a ten-minute drive.
