The Experience

Surfers can ride the waves with Wavehunters surf school. But you can still lounge around, and if you have kids, it’s a treat; young children can make friends in the popular Ofsted-registered Kids’ Zone while you disappear for a massage, a swim, long lunch or late dinner.

Gaze through walls of glass in The Living Space (a huge café/bar), float in the 25-metre infinity pool looking over the ocean, laze on a terrace strewn with loungers directly above one of the best sandy beaches in Britain – two miles long. There’s a large ocean room with an open fire, a sauna and clifftop hot tub with stunning views, and food that’s fresh and delicious. Eat in the bar or Zacry’s the grill, or it’s only 50 paces to the The Beach Hut for a burger.

Gaze out to the Atlantic Ocean from the beach loft rooms and sea view suites. The family suites have separate bunk rooms and apartments have their own kitchens and sitting rooms.

Reviews

We side-stepped the January blues by escaping to The Watergate Bay for a few nights, boy were we happy with our decision. We watched the surfers riding the waves from the cosy lounge, we swam laps of the quiet pool and soaked in the hot tub watching incredible sunsets. We took windy walks along the beach but hurried back to read our books in front of the fire. And we need to talk about the breakfast... Full English, Continental, smoked salmon bagels, overnight oats, smoothies AND a waffle station... all quality, local, and absolutely delicious! The perfect place for a couples winter break.

Tessa, Crickhowell

What a delightful hotel - very spoiling and at the same time, totally unpretentious. It's so lovely to see many different generations enjoying this space which feels more homely than you would expect from a hotel with many rooms. Dogs are welcomed and add to the convivial atmosphere. The pictures tell the story - views from every angle, great food and drinks. I hope to return soon. Thank you.
