The Experience
Everyone can get out and about here, whatever level you’re at: learn to kayak, wild swim, paddleboard and sail. For those less mobile there are hoists, ramps and wide pontoons to get you into or onto specially adapted equipment, so nobody has to miss out on the fun. The cabins and lodges are self-catering and kitchens are sparkling and well-equipped (in the lodges they are fully useable by those in wheelchairs), but there’s a good café on site with a decked terrace for breakfast or lunch, dining in the evening by appointment.
Each lodge and cabin has a hot tub and good views of the lake – one is lakeside. Large private terraces are screened off by wooden fencing so you’ll feel quite private and there are grassy areas for sunbathing or picnics. Bedrooms are calm, spacious and clutter-free with underfloor heating and neutral colours.
You’re close to The Ship Inn in Mawgan for a good pub meal and Gear Farm, 3 miles, has excellent pasties.
This place is one of our Sawday’s Community Champions – not-for-profit organisations receiving subsidised Sawday’s membership as recognition for their support of causes and communities.

Location
The neighbourhood
There's masses to do onsite including 2-hour sessions for children with team games in the water and other fun. The learning centre has accessible wet rooms and changing rooms. Walkers can join the Coast Path in Poldhu and walk south to Lizard or north to Porthleven (5 miles). Bonython Estate Gardens (accessible) are just down the road and there are plenty of brilliant beaches nearby for picnics.
Local points of interest from Jakie Jewell
- The National Seal Sanctuary is a haven for injured and orphaned seal pups set on the picturesque Helford Estuary in the lovely village of Gweek.
- The Penrose estate is a large area of parkland between Porthleven and Helston. The rolling parkland of the estate stretches down to, and includes a section of coast from Gunwalloe to Porthleven.
- Set in Helston's historic Market House and Drill Hall is a surprisingly large (and interesting) museum. Formerly known as the Helston Folk Museum it is home to one of the biggest social history collections in the South West.
- National Trust owned Tudor and Stuart Grade 1 mansion complete with Elizabethan stables. Surrounded by formal gardens (c.1500), orchards, bluebell woods and extensive estate.
- Trevarno is a historic Cornish Estate near Helston, Cornwall. Explore its magnificent gardens and grounds, organic skincare and handmade soaps workshops.
- The Helford River is a large estuary that nestles snugly between the western edge of Falmouth Bay and eastern side of The Lizard Peninsula. It is renowned for its scenic beauty and marine ecology and is a popular tourist destination.

Introducing
Jakie Jewell
Jakie (passionate about sustainability and access to nature for all) is CEO of Trevassack Holidays run by a not-for-profit charity, Children's Sailing Trust. She's poured her heart and soul into this project and is absolutely brilliant with guests. Their entire site is disabled-friendly, with wheelchair access throughout and additional equipment available for those who need it, free of charge.
What an inspiring place... This clutch of accessible wooden-clad lodges and cabins sits on a hillside overlooking a lake — once an abandoned quarry, now a bustling watersports centre where guests can hire kayaks, paddlebaords or join open water swimming lessons. There's a wonderful cafe jutting out over the lake too, and a brilliant team to look after you.
