The Experience
The estate is glorious and you stay in the historic Grade I listed house with roots in the 14th century. The King’s Room has a four-poster, pleasing fabrics and handsome windows overlooking the lawn – a wildflower meadow in summer. The Bluebird Room is huge, more of a suite, designed for Queen Victoria (who couldn’t make it in the end) and with similar furnishings and paintings – both are unstuffy and tasteful with lovely bathrooms.
For breakfast, Flora Café serves lip-smacking cinnamon buns and freshly baked bread along with homemade granola, compotes and jams made with fruit from the garden, organic yogurt and butter. Sip a decent coffee while you decide whether to have a swim or stride the estate.
This is Cornwall’s most remote and stunning part with quaint fishing villages and brilliant beaches. And ice cream.

Porthleven has a mussel shack on the quay, great fish and chips and an award-winning seafood restaurant, Kota. Local points of interest from the Vyvyan Family
- The Lizard is a wonderful place to stay. It is a hidden corner of Cornwall that means that even in the height of the summer, you won't be meeting hoards of people on the beaches, or in Trelowarren.
- Trelowarren is 15 minutes drive from over 14 different beaches, that's a different one every day for a fortnight. You can find one sheltered from the wind, with sand for sand castles, with rock pools for investigating, with streams for damming.... and more.
- We are surrounded by lovely gardens to visit at all times of the year. From March with the camellias, through to the Autumn splendour with all of the hydrangeas, you will find native and exotic planting all around South West Cornwall.
- These are some of the local activities you can enjoy: The Lizard Riding - Cycle Hire -Cornish Camels -Boat hire- Kayaking - Climbing - Bushcraft - Coasteering -- Surf school - Cornish Segway (2 wheel motorised scooter).
- Tremayne Quay. A short trip from Trelowarren or approx a 6 mile round trip on foot. Tremayne Quay is an out and back four mile walk. Beautiful scenery. Not to be missed.
- Visit the Shipwright Arms. Great food and amazing views, situated on the edge of the beautiful Helford Village.

Introducing
the Vyvyan Family
Trelowarren is the family seat of the Vyvyans - a very prominent Cornish family - and has been for over 600 years. The family still live in the manor house here. The current owner, Sir Ferrers, inherited the estate at 23 when it was almost bankrupt and has transformed it into a successful, environmentally-conscious business. They also operate a timeshare business.
Play lord or lady of the manor in this historic place, open as a B&B for the first time in its 600-year history. There's a heated pool, a beautiful walled garden, the fabulous Flora Café and New Yard Restaurant a minute's walk away, an art gallery, acres of woodland and sprawling parkland to roam... and the Lizard's beaches are an easy drive.
