Geoff's Barn at Treworgey

This beautifully-converted barn is marked on the 1840 tithe map but is considerably older than that. Spread out in the living room in front of an open fire (logs in the basket), play board games, read books or watch telly, cook in the sociable kitchen, eat at a farmhouse table. Order the night before and you can have supper waiting for you – just pop it in the oven – after a hard tramp on the Coast Path or on Bodmin Moor.

In summer the outdoor pool is a lively spot, children will be in heaven, and you can book treatments, float in the spa pool, or retreat to your own garden which wraps around two sides of the house – it’s secluded and has stunning views of the Looe Valley’s patchwork fields and the river below. A welcome pack includes homemade biscuits and freshly-picked flowers, you can ride, play tennis or send the children to forest school in the holidays.

Warm evenings in the garden with the barbecue lit will be magical.
