The Experience
Unusually the host doesn’t live in the house but is there to give you a belter of a breakfast in the morning: freshly baked bread, unsmoked back bacon, local pork sausages, hog’s pudding and eggs any way you like, or smoked salmon, avocado and French toast with delicious Cornish butter.
Bedrooms (one up in the eaves) all have superb mattresses, White Company towels, views over the garden and the means to make a cup of tea in the morning with proper milk. They are all a good size but there’s also a snug with a wood-burner for a quiet read about the area with a drink from the honesty bar, and a formal walled garden with space to sit and gaze at views while listening to birdsong.
There are 13 acres of nature reserve on the farm which you are welcome to roam and you’re just outside the village of Cusgarne which has a farm shop with a café.

Location
The neighbourhood
You're between Falmouth and Truro for shops and restaurants. From Falmouth you can get the foot ferry over to St Mawes and explore the Roseland peninsula. The Royal Oak at Perranwell and the Fox and Hounds at Comford serve good pub food and are within three miles. Trebah garden is near Falmouth and there are NT gardens at Trelissick and Glendurgan.
Local points of interest from Fiona Sherriff
- Cusgarne Manor is a historic, Grade II* listed building which has been saved from dereliction. The recent award-winning restoration was done using pain-staking conservation techniques and each room has been decorated in a unique style.
- Truly the most central spot in Cornwall - 6 miles to the north coast, 6 miles to the south coast, and an hour from the Devon border and Land's End.
- Tranquil rural setting but with Falmouth and Truro just a few miles away.
- Off-road walking and cycling from the doorstep with rolling farmland to the south and fascinating mining heritage to the north.
- One-mile stroll to the abandoned Ale and Cakes mine where you can stand inside the old, restored engine house.
- Since opening in 2021 Cusgarne Manor has won two Gold Awards for our breakfasts from Taste of the West and in 2022 was named Best B&B in the South West of England.

Introducing
Fiona Sherriff
Fiona and her sister live nearby and share the responsibility of looking after guests alongside occasional outside help. The house was bought in 2016 when it was in need of much restoration, which has been achieved sensitively. Between them they have lots of experience in making people feel relaxed and they are there if you need them.
I loved Cusgarne Manor B&B – you can really feel the deep history of the Manor in a peaceful rural setting that allows R&R with bells on... Fiona has created a relaxed vibe in the house, combined with super comfy beds, fabulous bathrooms and tasteful decor all topped off with a stupendous breakfast of the best local Cornish ingredients.
