The Workshop

Our stay at the Workshop was excellent. The place has everything you'd need for a stay in the countryside. We found the place to be very comfortable and cosy while also being practical and well equipped. We had everything we needed for a weekend away with the dog exploring the surrounding area and countryside. There was a footpath right next to the house which made getting out for a walk or a run in the scenic countryside very easy. Well positioned for access to both Bristol and Bath, we would definitely recommend a stay at the Workshop.

Talk about cosy! We loved feeling warm and safe here as storm Gerrit caused havoc outside. Walks nearby with our children were manageable and varied (flat, squelchy, woody, grassy) Brilliant board games, good selection of books. Oh and so amazing to be in such an important historical site we loved seeing “The World turned Upside down” tribute along the Cotswold Way.

Very comfortable, quiet, characterful and well-equipped cottage, lovely view and surroundings, charming host and hostess.

Thank you for a super comfortable and quiet stay - the perfect place for writing and performing at the literary festival! Michi loved the dog treat and local walks. It was brilliant to be able to get into Bath so quickly, but feel tucked away from it all at the same time. And brilliant WiFi !

We have thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Such a comfortable and relaxing place to stay. The views are stunning and it was easy and convenient to get to lots of lovely places to visit. The weather has been hot and sunny which has made enjoying the courtyard so easy! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

A fantastic getaway with amazing views and lovely walks! This cosy cabin has everything you could need. We really enjoyed our stay here-we are returning home recharged and refreshed.! This is exactly what we needed!

We had the most wonderful stay at The Workshop - the setting is truly magical and the cottage is very comfortable, for our whole family including toddler. We got so lucky with the weather which made it even more special. The location is perfect; total countryside all around you, yet only 10 mins drive into beautiful Bath. We'll be back!

We've had the most wonderful stay at The Workshop. The place has a lovely cottage feel, we immediataly felt at home. It has all you need inside and outside. Lovely walks with stunning views, close to Cotswolds villages and cultural and gastronomic Bath. Bad weather? Stay at home, next to the log fire. Jane is a welcoming host. We loved our stay at the Workshop, it was a very special find and a place we will definitely return to. I was won over instantly on arrival by the truly spectacular view and the Workshop was equally lovely. It’s such a comfortable, clean, cosy cottage, well equipped and really practical. Fabulous dog walking from the door. Access to Bath is simple and hassle free with the Park and Ride just down the road. It was so lovely to be able to effortlessly combine city visits with staying in such a tucked away, peaceful, fabulous location. Jane made us very welcome and her garden is simply amazing.

Just spent 5 nights at The Workshop, a very comfortable homely space perched on a hill with spectacular views over the countryside. Jane is a friendly hostess and we enjoyed a walk around her lovely garden. The Workshop has a well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and sofas. Pictures, books and colourful china add to the homely feel. It is in a very quiet location but within easy driving distance of Bath. The Cotswold Way is on the doorstep. I thoroughly recommend The Workshop for a comfortable stay in a lovely location.

Spent a lovely long weekend at The Workshop to celebrate my birthday. Such a beautiful spot with wonderful views and ideally located to visit Bath, Bristol and the surrounding areas. The Workshop itself is so cosy and comfortable, a real home from home with everything you could need and Jane made us feel very welcome. We hope to return soon!

Just back from a Lovely 3 night stay in the workshop - I took my Mum for a Christmas shopping trip in Bath and the accommodation was perfect for all our needs. The workshop itself is cozy and really comfortable (genuinely very comfortable!) with a fully stocked kitchen making self catering easy. The location however is what makes it - it is in the countryside tucked away with stunning views and easy access to lovely countryside walks which is amazing however it is also just down the road from the Bath park and ride making a day shopping hassle free!! This is my second visit ...

A fabulous place to stay for our visit to Bath. Some beautiful walks from the door, including the Cotswold Way and the Lansdown Battlefield. The cottage was very comfortable and extremely well equipped, with all the special touches of a Special Place to Stay, including proper sharp kitchen knives!

The Workshop is ideally placed to visit Bath and is right on the Cotswold Way so lots of lovely walks and beautiful views! The Park & Ride was 2mins down the road and runs so regularly you can pop into Bath at the drop of a hat. The Workshop is comfortably furnished and it was so cosy we did'nt need to light the log burner. If you are very lucky you will get a visit from Jimmy the cat!!!

The Workshop is in a truly magical location with fabulous walks from the door and views looking west. It's also wonderfully close to the beautiful city of Bath so location scores are 10/10! The cottage itself is rustically decorated but very cosy and comfortable and we had a lovely three days there with our dog - all of us very happy and rested after our stay :)

My friend and I had a lovely break. The cottage was warm, cosy and safe. The view from the Workshop was uplifting and wonderful walks and Inns nearby.

In these times of upheaval our break at the Workshop provided a much needed respite. This was a return visit but a "Lockdown" first. Jane provided excellent instructions covering the precautions taken and procedures to be followed. The worshop was spotlessly clean and we were very satisfied with the precautions taken to protect both ourselves and Jane. Also we had a lovely stay it was cosy and welcomming for any time of year, and we will return.

Jane is a very welcoming host and has gone to great trouble to make the Workshop Covid-secure. My partner and I are both quite cautious at present and we had no concerns at all. We had a lovely relaxing week. The views are great and there are walks on the doorstep. Despite being only a few miles from Bath, the location is very quiet and peaceful.

Lovely place to stay on the outskirts of Bath. Very convenient for getting into the city using the park and ride. The Workshop is very comfortable and homely, with everything you could possibly need - although we didn’t actually get round to doing any cooking there! Jane is an excellent host and we are so glad to have found this place through Sawday’s.

The Workshop was perfect for a very relaxing stay. We enjoyed being able to walk from the door directly on the picturesque trail on the Cotswold Way, and also made several trips into the lovely city of Bath, easily reached by car (and the nearby park & ride). The property was comfortable, well equipped and nicely furnished. Even with a 2 year old the stay was hassle-free. We will especially remember The Workshop for its beautiful view.
