The Experience
This is a comfortable and friendly boutique-style hotel in the middle of town but hidden away on a quiet side street overlooking Henrietta Park – seven acres of green space opened to celebrate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee; perfect to give the kids or dogs a run around.
Stroll for five minutes to magnificent Pulteney Bridge; the station isn’t much further. You can hire bikes in town, then follow a towpath along the canal out into the country. Bath will keep you busy: soak up the elegant architecture, relax at the thermae spa, eat, shop… Don’t miss the Roman Baths or the Fashion Museum.
Breakfast – served in an airy dining room – is excellent: smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, buttermilk pancakes, the full cooked works. Bread is baked overnight by the in-house baker who also makes cakes and scones for an indulgent afternoon tea. Ensconce yourself in Henrietta’s Bar – a cool space with expert mixologists shaking and stirring your favourite tipple.

We had an amazing weekend at The Roseate Villa; it felt warm and welcoming with cosy and comfortable interiors, friendly staff, lovely food and a great location. It was fantastic being located just opposite Henrietta Park and minutes walk from the centre of Bath. We've stayed here a few times now and I'm sure we'll be back again.

My friend from Australia and I stayed at Roseate Villa for 2 nights. It was a lovely hotel in a very convenient location to be able to walk to all the local sights in Bath. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the room was lovely with all comforts provided. We had delicious breakfasts, with lots of choice, fresh produce and home made jams, all served in a beautiful sunny room with smiles.

Such a joy to be in Roseate Villa, an elegant little oasis in the heart of historic Bath. Caroline welcomes guests warmly, her team is sunny and the hotel is supremely dog-friendly. A night baker (in place of a night porter) works through the small hours so that guests wake to the wonderful scent of freshly baked bread for breakfast - then cakes, scones and fresh bread sandwiches for a splendid afternoon tea. Rooms are individually designed with huge headboards and lots of light, fridges and gifts of shortbread baked onsite. You're a short walk from the centre but you'd never know it. Bliss.

Location
The neighbourhood
Bath is one of Britain's most lovely cities. Small, easy to manage and surrounded by lovely countryside. The exquisite Georgian architecture is a big draw but you’ll also find an excellent theatre, several galleries, a swish spa, Roman Baths, good independent shops and restaurants. Come by train and arrive into Bath Spa station – just a short walk from the hotel.
Local points of interest from Joana Ferreira
- Bath is a vibrant city, filled with cultural and gastronomic delights. There is always something interesting to see and do. Our staff will be happy to share their local knowledge, or point you in the direction of some of their favourite sights.
- Built in 1868, this Victorian townhouse was named after the Battle of Maqdala, fought in Abyssinia. Field Marshall Lord Robert Napier, who commanded the campaign, lived nearby in Henrietta Street as a boy. The house was named in his honour.
- Our rates are quoted per room per night based on two sharing including full breakfast, and VAT at the current rate unless otherwise stated. Parking is charged at £20.00 per night.
- The city of Bath has a wealth of fantastic dining options for our guests to choose from, and to make things easier we have compiled our own personal recommendations list. Bath is a real foodie haven so we always recommend booking in advance of your visit.
- You’re a level 5-minute walk from the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey, Pump rooms and the Thermae Spa. No hills or hikes to the many shops and restaurants of Bath! Bath Spa Rail Station is just a 5-minute taxi ride away.
- When you stay with us, you can truly unwind and enjoy the U.K’s most romantic and historical city. We are perfect for City breaks, Business stays and Romantic Getaways!

This is a wonderful place to spend a weekend in Bath. It's just a 10-minute walk from the centre, but in a peaceful, secluded spot away from the hustle and bustle. The staff were super welcoming and friendly, and we treated ourselves to an afternoon tea, which was delicious!
