St. Catherine Tea Pavilion

We saw the Tea Pavilion and we thought it might be rather jolly to have a go at staying there; reader, it was. It was very excellent to remove ourselves to a rural idyll and yet be so close to such a beautiful city as Bath. We fooled ourselves that we were roughing it in the countryside while lounging sybaritically on the outdoor divans, sipping champagne...how awful! The Tea Pavilion is very splendid and Rowan a perfect host, attentive to our needs while leaving us in privacy. Playing my guitar sitting in a rocking chair on a veranda convinced me I had been transported to Nashville.

Thank you for another wonderful stay here in your little piece of brookside heaven. To wake up to a (truly deafening) dawn chorus and then have a shower amidst the birds while the first rays of the sun peak over the hill was truly magical. We loved staying here again!

Thank you again! This is truly our happy place. This year, we’ve loved seeing the children explore together. The orchard was a big hit - thank you for sharing the apples. The freshness + smells this morning after the rain - is something we wish we could bottle. Hope to see you next year!

The tea pavilion was wonderful. Such a beautiful and peaceful setting. I told Rowan we were coming for my partner's birthday and we arrived to some delicious cupcakes! It is the perfect escape from the city. So lovely to put the wood burner on and just relax all weekend. Would definitely recommend!

We had such a fantastic stay at the tea pavilion. We had the perfect mix of being only 15-20 minutes drive to Bath but being completely isolated in a beautiful peaceful setting. We loved our walk to Bath and the great Christmas market, the outdoor shower and the comfort of a great wood burning stove and little WiFi reception meant it’s the perfect place to relax, switch off and just enjoy the setting. Rowan gave such helpful advice and made our stay so lovely. We have a 10 month old daughter and Rowan made sure a travel cot and high chair were in place when we arrived. Just wonderful x

Such a special place- beautiful, calm and restful inside and out. Located in a very attractive area close to Bath. It is well and thoughtfully equipped for the perfect relaxing stay. Just what we needed!

The Tea Pavillion is a truly enchanting place - it feels a million miles from the hustle and stress of normal life and everything is designed to make your time there perfectly relaxing. From the gorgeous tea (naturally!) and cake provided by Rowan, to the beautiful bed linens and indulgent bathroom - all striking the perfect balance between luxury and back-to-nature rustic. We can’t wait to go back!

A haven for relaxation. Green all around you, birdsong. fresh air and a running stream in front of the pavilion make a very private, healing, intimate retreat. I want to return again and again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Tea Pavilion - magical place, so pretty and comfortable and as if we were a million miles from the rest of the world. But in reality we walked to Bath and it was easy access from the M4. Despite the snow in March, the wood burner kept us cosy. We'd love to return in summer for the full year round experience! Rowen was also a wonderful host.

Oh my goodness!! We had our wedding reception here on 30th August 1986 - so it is our 30th wedding anniversary this Tuesday!! It was delightful, enchanting and will remain one of the most wonderful days of my life - a truly wonderful setting and made for a totally perfect d. I'm so delighted it's opened again - I hope many others will experience the magical setting The Mead offers!!

A wonderful place to stay - the best of both worlds. The buzz and culture of Bath nearby and the peace and tranquil setting of the Tea Pavilion itself to savour. One of the best places I've stayed - simply beautiful.

We chose this as the location for our 10th Wedding anniversary getaway. If you want to get away from modern life connectivity but keep all the creature comforts this is the place to come ! It's simply beautiful, from the welcome to the surroundings, it is impossible to not totally switch off here and it all makes it very hard to leave. Brilliantly equipped for when you're in and on the doorstep of so much to make you want to go out . We absolutely cannot wait to return.

A beautiful and tranquil location with an outside shower, an amazing experience night or day. Rowan and Mikey have an eye for detail inside the cottage and outside. Beautifully decorated, all the utensils you need and an amazing log fire. We spent our first breakfast on veranda watching nature enjoying the peace and quiet. The beautiful city of Bath is just 4 miles away- you can walk to it along the river in 45 minutes.
