The Experience
This lovely hotel sits on St Aubin’s harbour with views across the bay to St Helier and beyond. Outside, there’s a sun-trapping terrace where you can watch sailing boats come and go. Inside, you find the star of the show, this beautiful house that mostly dates to 1610, but comes with a 13th-century granite staircase, too. Downstairs, there’s an airy bar, then a restaurant split between two rooms. One has the feel of a galleon’s dining quarters and featured as Diamond Lil’s bar in the TV series Bergerac. The other, the old courthouse itself, has ancient walls of golden stone, then hanging lamps, painted beams and the original fireplace. Both are a delight, as is the food: lots of fresh seafood, delicious duck, sticky toffee pudding; a bistro below is popular with locals. Cute rooms have a soft, chic style: a wall of beautiful paper, white linen for Hypnos mattresses, super little bathrooms with big power showers. Two have slipper baths, one has a hot tub on a private terrace. As for Jersey, expect sandy beaches, gardens and galleries, castles and cliff-top walks. You can surf, sail and kayak, too.

Location
The neighbourhood
Local points of interest from The Liberation Group
- Located in the stunning village of St Aubin, overlooking the idyllic harbour, the Old Court House Inn is a 17th-century pub and inn combining old-world charm with modern features.
- It’s the perfect base for exploring the island of Jersey, with popular nearby attractions including St Aubin’s Fort, the Jersey War Tunnels, Elizabeth Castle, the La Mare Wine Estate and Jersey Zoo.
- Built on a rocky islet in St. Aubin’s Bay, Elizabeth Castle has defended Jersey for more than 400 years and is the perfect place to spend a day out. You can take the amphibious castle ferry or walk out along the causeway at low tide.
- Jersey Zoo began as the first ever conservation-themed zoo. Over 60 years later, Gerald Durrell’s animal haven is the natural place to discover some of the world’s most incredible creatures.
- What better way to explore our beautiful island than hiring a bike – there are many companies to choose from, but Jersey Bike Hire is just down the round.
