The Rectory Hotel took over our account in May 2019 and still remains as one of our most successful take-overs to date. They were approached by our Marketing Team, who admired their beautiful images and inspiring feed. You’ll find it littered with dreamy photos of bath-tubs, cosy corners and delicious food. We knew they would tell a beautiful story of a typical weekend at the hotel.
During the take-over, we allow the participating place to post stories (as many as they like) as well as six feed posts (two a day). We also ask them to provide a competition prize (usually a one or two-night stay) to promote to our followers on the Sunday morning. The competition entry metrics include liking and following both accounts, so it is a great opportunity to boost your number of followers.
The Rectory saw great engagement on our account over the weekend. In total, they welcomed over 800 new followers as a direct result of the take-over. The owner, Alex, said that:
“The Instagram takeover worked really well for us. It needs the alignment of the audiences to be successful. We saw an immediate uplift of followers – it was getting us in front of exactly the right target market”.
